The flood warning for the River Swale at Topcliffe remains in force. River levels are now falling but will remain higher than usual overnight and into Tuesday morning, 22/02/2022. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Swale, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around properties at Topcliffe and Topcliffe Mill. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. River Swale
This flood warning is now in force. River levels are rising due to heavy rainfall in the early hours of Sunday 20/02/2022. Further rainfall is expected overnight and will be followed by showers and further rainfall on Monday 21/02/2022. This will fall on already wet catchments and river levels are rising quickly. The areas of particular concern are around Topcliffe Mill and Catton Lane and Mill Lane. We are monitoring river levels closely. The river level is expected to peak at about 6.15m at Maunby and then fall overnight. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
